Trunk piston

A type of piston used in internal combustion engines that is long enough to incorporate the gudgeon pin within its skirt, thus eliminating the need for a separate crosshead. This design is common in automotive engines and smaller industrial engines. It transmits the side thrust directly to the cylinder wall.
