Trunk

A main passage or artery within a mine, serving as a primary route for ventilation, transport of ore and waste, and access for personnel and equipment. These large-scale tunnels connect different working areas to the surface or to other major shafts. Trunk lines are often reinforced to withstand heavy traffic and maintain structural integrity over long periods.
