Pulsator

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-004577

A device used in mineral processing that creates a pulsating water current to separate materials of different densities. In a pulsator jig, the upward and downward strokes of water cause lighter gangue particles to rise and be washed away, while heavier mineral particles settle and are collected. The frequency and amplitude of the pulsation are adjusted based on the specific gravity and size of the particles being separated.
