Pulpit

A sturdy railing or guardrail structure located at the bow of a boat or ship, extending forward from the deck. It provides a secure enclosure for crew members working with anchors, headsails, or mooring lines at the very front of the vessel. On many sailing yachts, the pulpit is a tubular metal frame that also serves as an attachment point for lifelines running aft along the sides of the deck.
