Pull-up resistor
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-004575
An electrical component that connects a digital signal line to a positive voltage source, establishing a default logic high state. When no active device is driving the line low, the resistor pulls the voltage up, preventing an undefined or floating input condition. Common resistance values range from 1 kΩ to 10 kΩ, with the specific value chosen based on power consumption and switching speed requirements.
