Resistor

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-004802

An electrical component that introduces a specific amount of electrical resistance into a circuit to impede the flow of current. By opposing the passage of electrons, it can be used to control signal levels, divide voltages, or limit current to protect other components from damage. The behavior of an ideal resistor is governed by Ohm's law, which states that the voltage across it is directly proportional to the current passing through it.
