Varistor
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-006417
A voltage-dependent resistor, a semiconductor device whose electrical resistance changes significantly with the applied voltage. Its resistance decreases sharply as the voltage across it increases beyond a certain threshold. Varistors are primarily used as surge protectors to absorb transient voltage spikes and protect electronic circuits.
