Varignon's theorem
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-006416
A principle in mechanics stating that the moment of a resultant force about any point is equal to the algebraic sum of the moments of its component forces about the same point. This theorem simplifies the calculation of moments for complex force systems. It is widely applied in structural analysis and machine design.
