Norton's theorem
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-003930
A circuit analysis theorem stating that any linear electrical network containing independent and dependent voltage and current sources and resistors can be replaced by an equivalent circuit consisting of a single current source in parallel with a single resistor. This equivalent circuit is known as a Norton equivalent circuit. The equivalent current source is the short-circuit current at the terminals, and the equivalent resistance is the Thevenin resistance.
