Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-006430
A Voltage Dependent Resistor, also known as a varistor, a non-linear resistor whose resistance changes significantly with the applied voltage. Its resistance decreases sharply as the voltage across it increases beyond a certain threshold. VDRs are commonly used as surge protectors in electronic circuits to divert excess voltage.
