Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-006429
A hardware description language used to model, simulate, and synthesize digital electronic systems, particularly for field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) and application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs). The name VDL is an acronym for VHSIC Hardware Description Language, where VHSIC itself stands for Very High Speed Integrated Circuit. Its syntax is explicitly designed to describe the behavior and structure of digital circuits from simple logic gates to complex microprocessors.
