Autocorrelator
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-000329
An instrument used to measure the autocorrelation function of a signal, particularly in optics to determine the pulse duration of ultrashort laser pulses. It splits a pulse into two replicas, introduces a variable time delay between them, and then measures their overlap. This technique provides information about the temporal characteristics of the pulse.
