Autocryst

A crystal within an igneous rock that formed directly from the melt in which it is now found and is in chemical equilibrium with the surrounding magma. These crystals are typically well-formed and reflect the crystallization conditions of the specific magma body. Autocrysts are distinct from xenocrysts or antecrysts.
