Granophyric

Describing an igneous rock texture characterized by an intergrowth of quartz and alkali feldspar crystals in a distinctive, graphically interlocking pattern. This texture forms during the final stages of magma crystallization under specific cooling conditions. Granophyric textures are found in shallow intrusive rocks like dikes and sills and are a subtype of the broader granitic rock family.
