Granulated steel

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-002631

Steel that has been solidified into small, irregular particles or beads, typically by pouring molten steel into water or onto a rapidly rotating disc. This process creates a product with a high surface area to volume ratio, making it suitable for specific applications such as a raw material in powder metallurgy or as an aggregate. The size and shape of the granules depend on the cooling method and the steel's composition.
