Hogging

The machining process of removing a substantial volume of material from a workpiece in a single pass or a series of aggressive passes. This roughing operation aims to rapidly reduce the size of the raw material to a shape closer to the final product. It is characterized by high material removal rates and often leaves a rough surface finish.
