Chattermark

A repetitive surface defect appearing as a series of wavy or uneven patterns on a machined part. This defect results from vibrations between the cutting tool and the workpiece during the machining process. Chattermarks indicate instability in the machining setup, often caused by insufficient rigidity, improper cutting parameters, or worn tooling.
