The programmed sequence of movements that a cutting tool follows relative to a workpiece during a computer numerical control (CNC) machining operation. This path dictates how material is removed to create the desired part geometry. It is generated by CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and consists of a series of coordinates and machine commands.
