Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-000905
A combined use of computer-aided design (CAD) for creating and modifying product designs and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) for controlling automated machinery to produce the part. The CAD software generates a digital model of the object, which is then processed by CAM software to create toolpaths and machine code. This G-code or M-code is then sent to a CNC (computer numerical control) machine for fabrication.
