Light pen

A computer input device shaped like a pen, containing a photocell or photodiode that detects changes in brightness on a display screen. When touched to the screen, it registers the exact location where light is emitted, allowing users to select or draw directly on the display. This device was historically used in industrial electronics for CAD/CAM systems and graphic design applications.
