Workspace

The three-dimensional volume within which a robot or machine tool can operate and reach with its end effector. This envelope defines the physical limits of the machine's movement along its axes, which can be visualized in computer-aided design (CAD) software. The shape of the workspace is determined by the robot's kinematic structure, such as Cartesian, cylindrical, or articulated, and is a key specification in its data sheet.
