Digital twin

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-001722

A virtual model of a physical object, process, or system that is continuously updated with real-world data from sensors. This dynamic simulation allows for analysis, monitoring, and prediction of the physical counterpart's performance and condition throughout its lifecycle. The data connection between the physical asset and its digital twin is what distinguishes it from a standard computer-aided design (CAD) model.
