Bean shot
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-000485
A type of abrasive media used in shot blasting and peening, consisting of small, elongated cast steel particles resembling the shape of a bean. The unique geometry provides a different impact characteristic compared to spherical shot or angular grit, influencing the resulting surface texture and the compressive stresses induced in the workpiece. This media is selected for specific applications where a particular surface finish or peening intensity is desired.
