Bean stitch
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-000486
A line stitch in which each stitch is sewn forward, back and forward again over the same short length, giving a thicker, bolder line than a single running stitch. It is common in machine embroidery for outlines and fine detail, and the repeat count can be raised to thicken the line further. It differs from satin stitch, which fills a shape with dense parallel columns.
