Theralite

A rare, dark-colored intrusive igneous rock belonging to the foid gabbro family, characterized by the presence of nepheline or other feldspathoids in addition to plagioclase feldspar and pyroxene. It forms from the slow cooling of alkaline magma deep within the Earth's crust. Theralite is typically found in association with other alkaline igneous rocks.
