Phanerite

An igneous rock in which the individual mineral grains are large enough to be visible to the unaided eye. This coarse-grained texture indicates a slow cooling rate, typically occurring in intrusive igneous environments deep within the Earth's crust. Granite is a common example of a phaneritic rock.
