PWM
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-004603
An acronym for Pulse Width Modulation, a technique used to control the average power delivered to an electrical load by varying the width of a series of electrical pulses. By changing the duty cycle of the pulses, the effective voltage or current supplied to the load can be adjusted. It is widely used in motor control, dimming LEDs, and power conversion.
