Off time
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-003973
The duration within a duty cycle during which a component, circuit, or system is in a non-operating or deactivated state. In power electronics and switching regulators, it is the period when the switching element, such as a transistor, is turned off and not conducting current. The ratio of on time to the total period (on time plus off time) defines the duty cycle, which is expressed as a percentage.
