Turn-off time
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-006248
The interval required for a semiconductor device, such as a transistor or thyristor, to transition from a fully conducting (on) state to a non-conducting (off) state after the control signal is removed. This period consists of the storage time and the fall time, during which stored charge carriers are removed and the current drops to zero. The turn-off time is a limiting factor for the maximum switching frequency of a power electronic circuit.
