Storage time

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-005685

The duration a semiconductor device, such as a diode or transistor, remains in a conducting state after the input signal has been removed or reversed. This delay is caused by the recombination of excess minority carriers within the device's junctions. For a bipolar junction transistor, storage time contributes to the turn-off delay.
