Propagation time
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-004530
The delay experienced by a signal as it travels from the input of an electronic circuit or device to its output. This delay is caused by the finite speed of charge carriers and the physical characteristics of the circuit components and interconnections. Propagation time is a key parameter in digital logic, affecting clock speeds and system performance, and is measured in nanoseconds or picoseconds.
