Emitter-coupled logic
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-002027
A high-speed bipolar transistor logic family that avoids saturation of its transistors, thereby reducing propagation delay. It uses a differential amplifier input stage and emitter-follower outputs. ECL circuits are known for their fast switching speeds, often in the sub-nanosecond range, but consume more power than other logic families.
