Darlington pair
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-001555
A compound structure consisting of two bipolar junction transistors connected in series, where the emitter current of the first transistor feeds into the base of the second. This configuration provides a very high current gain, making it suitable for applications requiring high current amplification from a small input signal. The overall current gain of a Darlington pair is approximately the product of the individual current gains of the two transistors.
