Emitter
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-002026
The region of a bipolar junction transistor (BJT) that is heavily doped to supply charge carriers, either electrons or holes, into the base region. The current flowing out of the emitter is the sum of the base current and the collector current. In a schematic symbol, the emitter is distinguished by an arrow indicating the direction of conventional current flow for a p-n junction.
