Collector
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-001236
One of the three terminals of a bipolar junction transistor (BJT), responsible for collecting the charge carriers (electrons or holes) that have passed through the base region. It is typically the largest of the three regions and is designed to dissipate heat generated during operation. The current flowing into the collector is controlled by the smaller current applied to the base terminal.
