Potentiometer
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-004445
A three-terminal variable resistor where a sliding or rotating contact moves along a resistive element, functioning as an adjustable voltage divider. Applying a voltage across the two fixed terminals produces a variable voltage output at the third terminal (the wiper) as its position changes. The resistance value is marked on the component's body, for example 10K for 10,000 ohms.
