Heating element

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-002790

A component that converts electrical energy into heat through the principle of resistive heating. It is constructed from a material with high electrical resistance, such as nichrome wire or a ceramic composite, which heats up as current passes through it. The element's power output in watts is determined by the square of the voltage applied across it divided by its resistance.
