Potentiometer

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008088

An instrument used to measure electric potential differences or voltages without drawing current from the circuit. In meteorology, potentiometers were historically used in certain types of sensors, such as those measuring temperature or pressure, by converting a physical change into a measurable voltage. Modern meteorological instruments often use digital sensors instead.
