Center tap

A connection point located at the electrical midpoint of a winding in a transformer, inductor, or potentiometer. This tap allows for the division of the winding's voltage or resistance into two equal or specific portions. It is frequently used in power supplies to create a split-rail voltage output or in audio amplifiers for push-pull configurations.
