Northbridge

A logic chipset on a computer motherboard that manages communication between the central processing unit (CPU) and high-speed components. It acts as the primary bridge connecting the CPU to memory (RAM), the graphics card via AGP or PCI Express slots, and the southbridge. In modern CPU architectures, the functions of the northbridge are often integrated directly into the CPU die.
