Unijunction
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-006352
A type of semiconductor device with only one junction, primarily used as a switch in oscillator circuits, timing circuits, and trigger generators for silicon controlled rectifiers (SCRs). It exhibits a negative resistance characteristic, allowing it to discharge a capacitor when a certain voltage threshold is reached. The unijunction transistor (UJT) is a common example of this device.
