Rejig
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-004768
To reprocess tailings or low-grade ore through a jig concentrator to recover additional valuable minerals that were missed during the initial processing cycle. This secondary separation is performed when changes in mineral prices or improved technology make the recovery of small remaining quantities economically viable. The material is fed back into a jig, which separates particles based on their different specific gravities in a pulsating water column.
