The proportion of a valuable mineral or metal extracted from its ore during a mining and processing operation, expressed as a percentage. It quantifies the efficiency of the extraction process, indicating how much of the desired substance is successfully separated from the waste material. A typical gold recovery rate from ore might range from 85% to 95%.
