Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-001671
To modify an engine by reducing its piston stroke, the distance the piston travels within the cylinder. This modification is accomplished by using a crankshaft with a smaller throw, which decreases the engine's displacement. Destroking is the opposite of stroking, which involves increasing the piston's travel to gain displacement.
