Conrod
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-001309
A component within a reciprocating engine that links the piston to the crankshaft, also known as a connecting rod. It has two ends: the small end connects to the piston pin, and the big end rotates around the crankpin on the crankshaft. This linkage converts the linear, back-and-forth movement of the piston into the rotational motion of the crankshaft, which ultimately drives the vehicle's wheels.
