FET
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-002238
A type of transistor that controls the flow of current by applying a voltage to a gate electrode, which modulates the conductivity of a semiconductor channel. Field-Effect Transistors are unipolar devices, meaning current conduction is due to only one type of charge carrier (electrons or holes). MOSFETs (Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor FETs) are a common type used in integrated circuits.
