nMOSFET

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-003907

A type of metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor built on a p-type substrate with n-type source and drain regions. The n-channel MOSFET (nMOSFET) conducts current via electrons when a positive voltage is applied to the gate terminal relative to the source, creating an inversion layer or channel. It is a fundamental building block of modern digital and analog integrated circuits, often paired with a pMOSFET in complementary MOS (CMOS) logic.
