MOS
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-003762
A type of semiconductor fabrication process used to create integrated circuits, particularly field-effect transistors. The Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor structure consists of a metal gate electrode placed on top of an insulating oxide layer, which is itself on a semiconductor substrate. This technology is the basis for most modern digital electronics, including microprocessors and memory chips found in industrial control systems.
