Femtofarad
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-002228
A unit of electrical capacitance in the International System of Units (SI), equal to one quadrillionth (10^-15) of a farad. This minute capacitance value is encountered in the design and analysis of integrated circuits, particularly in advanced semiconductor devices where parasitic capacitances can affect performance. Modern microprocessors contain billions of transistors, each with femtofarad-scale gate capacitances.
