Ratioless

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-004700

Relating to a type of digital logic circuit, particularly in MOS technology, where the output voltage levels are not dependent on the ratio of the sizes of the pull-up and pull-down transistors. In these circuits, the transistors act as near-ideal switches, with one being fully on while the other is fully off. CMOS (Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor) logic is an example of a ratioless design, contrasting with the ratioed logic found in older NMOS and PMOS technologies.
